Peter S Kolmisoppi, one of the co-founders of Pirate Bay, tweeted sadly that, “According to leaked information from the court we lost (got the news last night). Trustworthy source as well.” The site’s 4 owners each face a year in prison and over a $3.5 million fine if the judgment comes through.
For those of you that don’t know, The Pirate Bay is a Swedish website that indexes, stores and tracks BitTorrent (.torrent) files, such a music and movies. They are charged with being accessories to copyright infringement, but Kolmisoppi says that, “nothing will happen to TPB, us personally or file sharing what so ever”, although the outcome is still uncertain in my opinion.
I’m sure that the defendants will appeal the verdict and finally buy that island they were looking for, thus starting their own country… kinda like Waterworld, but with better acting.

Up for grabs this week is a super cool Griffin AirCurve iPhone Acoustic Amplifier:
The AirCurve looks like a simple, elegantly minimal stand for your iPhone. But inside is a coiled waveguide “horn” that collects the sound from the built-in speaker of your iPhone, amplifies it (by about 10 decibels), and projects it into the room. While the AirCurve won’t power your iPhone, but the built-in pass-through slot can feed a dock cable through the bottom and charge from your computer.
* Acoustically amplifies your iPhone
* Custom-engineered waveguide requires no power
* Allows syncing/charging using Griffin Dock Cable or
the charge/sync cable that came with your iPhone
* Works with original iPhone or iPhone 3G
* No batteries required

I was dubious of the free sites you see on the internet. There are supposedly free TV’s, free iPods… even free gas cards. You sign up, complete an offer, then refer a few of your friends. Then they send the gift right to your door. Well, here at Deathcarrot.com, we wanted to do a little investigative reporting and here are the results from my earlier post in December, 2008:
I posted a few ads on Craigslist and referred some of my friends and low and behold, I am now the proud owner of a brand new Xbox 360.
Exact instructions after the jump.
