My Other Hoverboard Is A Scarpar Powerboard

Watch the Scarpar Powerboard take on sand, snow…even go off-road (watch around 1:34 where is climbs over a huge log! CRAZY!), this cross between a snowmobile and a skateboard gets a major thumbs up from me! I have been a Mountain boarder for years and it sure beats walking back up the hill after every run! On The flip side, I have serious doubts that this thing could actually move with me on top of it… like the time I tried to steal my little cousin’s Power Wheels Jeep and it wouldn’t move at all… Anyway, the Powerboard is still in development and no release date is set yet. I want it bad! [Scarpar via Engadget via Gizmodo]

$300 Psyko 5.1 Gaming Headphones Pound Your Skull — Deafness Ensues

January 11th, 2009

Xbox 360Psyko Surround Sound Gaming HeadphonesOuch!

Gaming + Psyko Audio Labs 5.1 Gaming Headphones = Migraines x Bleeding Ears

The folks behind these Psyko 5.1 surround sound “gaming” headphones went an unorthodox route when deciding how best to deliver sound to your ears—through your skull.

And if the picture doesn’t give it away, then I’ll just tell you: It’s delivered by a bunch of speakers in the headband. Two subwoofers live in the cans, and your fillings will live on the floor after they get shaken from your teeth.

Coupled with subwoofers in the earphones, the result is impressive — during a Call of Duty 4 demo, the sound had some amazing depth with distant artillery booms muddled as they should be, and nearby gunshots crisp and present. There was also a very clear direction in my mind from where each sound came, seemingly more so than I get with the surround-sound headphones I currently use. -DVICE

At a pricepoint of $300, you’ll have to really enojy sound to an extreme audiophile level to truely appreciate these babies. Available later this year. [via DVICE via Gizmodo]

Extreme Kitchen Gadgets… With A Slight Robot Fetish

December 30th, 2008

Crazy Kitchen Gadgets
Everybody loves gadgets, and anything techy in the kitchen is always sweeeet… especially robotic kitchen appliances! No robotic bottle openers for those much needed cooking cold ones, but it’s still a great list. Some of this extreme and bizarre kitchen tech that would even make Gordon Ramsey jealous. My vote goes for the gigantic robot sushi machine. Apparently it can make thousand rice balls for nigiri sushi per minute. [via Oobject]
