In an effort to protect… well… everyone apparently, Facebook has arbitrarily removed pictures of woman breastfeeding from their site. Facebook’s basic stance on the matter is that if a picture or video shows the nipple or too much of said “jubblies”, then it is deemed obscene and removed form the site.
Everybody loves gadgets, and anything techy in the kitchen is always sweeeet… especially robotic kitchen appliances! No robotic bottle openers for those much needed cooking cold ones, but it’s still a great list. Some of this extreme and bizarre kitchen tech that would even make Gordon Ramsey jealous. My vote goes for the gigantic robot sushi machine. Apparently it can make thousand rice balls for nigiri sushi per minute. [via Oobject]
Braid is easily the best game of the year from XBLA. It’s a puzzle-platformer, drawn in a painterly style, where the player manipulates the flow of time in strange and unusual ways. From a house in the city, journey to a series of worlds and solve puzzles to rescue an abducted princess.
In each world, you have a different power to affect the way time behaves, and it is time’s strangeness that creates the puzzles. The time behaviors include: the ability to rewind, objects that are immune to being rewound, time that is tied to space, parallel realities, time dilation, and perhaps more. Braid treats your time and attention as precious; there is no filler in this game. Every puzzle shows you something new and interesting about the game world. [via XBOX.com]
“Braid is a risky experiment climaxing in glorious success. Ask yourself when last you felt a sense of reward and achievement playing a game; not Achievement with a capital ‘A’ and ten Microsoft points, but an actual sense of pride… And when did a game really make you look at the world differently?”-Xbox World 360 Magazine
If you haven’t heard of Smule’s smash hit Ocarina, then you haven’t used your iphone or ipod touch! Ocarina is one of the first great music applications in the iTunes App Store, actually allowing you to make real, honest to goodness music.
Making music is simple:
• Blow into your microphone to generate music
• Hold down combinations of the holes to change your pitch
• Tilt your phone from front to back to change the vibrato depth
• Tilt your phone from side to side to change the vibrato rate

“What the Internet has done is remove barriers to impulsive acts of generosity. When clicking a few times amounts to an act of genuine compassion, you can find good samaritans everywhere.”
